Before the photoshoot
1. Be ready to be called by a photographer to schedule a date and hour for the photoshoot.
2. Don't forget to add it to your calendar
3. Be sure to prepare the space before the photographer arrives:
Kitchen
- Put the dishes in the cupboards
- Clean the work surface
- Fill the fruit basket
- Clean the windows (oven/microwave)
Toilet
- Put the seat down
- Clean the mirrors
- Do not present anything wet (ex: shower mat ...)
Room
- The bed must be made and the sheets without folds
- Tap the pillows
- Open the curtains
- Put away electrical cables
Pool
- Make sure the pool is filled with water
- Open the umbrellas and line up the chairs
-> The success of the photo shoot depends on good preparation before the arrival of the photographer.
-> If you need to cancel or postpone the appointment, please contact the photographer at least 24 hours before the shooting.
-> Please bring your ID to confirm your identity with the photographer.
During the photoshoot
1. HomeExchange Collection developed with OCUS a certain set of instructions for the photographer to follow. If you prefer, you can see the photos taken on the location. Feel free to ask the photographer and give him your preferences, within the limits of the freedom given to the photographer and the required guidelines.
2. Please provide someone available (if not yourself) during the whole session to guide the photographer.
3. Make sure to respect the time agreed upon because the photographer may have other photo shoots after yours.
You can assist the photographer in his shooting by giving him indications necessary for the good progress of the photoshoot
-> Select the photos with the photographer at the end of the photoshoot
-> For any question, the Collection team will always be there for you
-> Have a great time!
After the photoshoot
1. OCUS retouches and checks the quality of your photos.
2. The photos are sent to your partner.
3. Your partner validates and uploads the photos on your website or application.
General information
-> Check your inbox because you will receive important information by email to follow the status of your photo shoot.

What will the photos look like?
OCUS delivers millions of images a year to satisfy its clients.
Please see below for guidelines for our photographers to follow:
Indoor
DO
- Take photos at an horizontal wide angle (in cases when you don’t have a choice, such as shooting a very narrow bathroom, you can shoot in vertical
- Take at least one picture per room
- All curtains and shutters must be opened
- Try to hide cables in rooms
- You can put up a few decorations to make the space look homelier (eg: an opened book on the living room’s armchair)
- Select pictures with your onsite contact
DON'T
Avoid extreme wide angles
Don’t include people or animals on the photo
Don’t include more than one space in one frame
Avoid shooting when there is bad weather (rain, fog, snow…) or at night
Outdoor
DO
- Frame with a straight on view
- Take a picture at wide angle and horizontal
- Open the entrance door
- Shoot the surroundings of the house/facade
DON'T
Don’t include people or animals
Don’t include trash or rubbish
Avoid shooting when there is bad weather (rain, fog, snow…) or at night
Amenities
DO
- Take an horizontal picture at a wide angle
- If the deck has a parasol, you must open it
- Ensure that all equipments are ready to use
DON'T
Avoid extreme wide angles
Don’t include people or animals on the photo
Don’t include more than one space in one frame
Avoid shooting when there is bad weather (rain, fog, snow…) or at night
Detail
DO
- Please ask the property owner to tidy up the space before you take photos
- Focus on stand-out characteristics, try to tell a story about the style of the home
- Use items to style the room and mix them up!
- Anticipate Ratio 16:9
DON'T
- Avoid capturing identical images. Try capturing the same facility/room from different angles
- Do not framing wide, take details or close up photos
- Do not photograph from a high or low angle view
- Do not plan photoshoot during bad weather (rainy, snowy, foggy conditions...)
- Do not show reflections of people or camera equipment in glass or mirrors
- Do not include people, animals in the frame
- Move any towels or amenities away from the bed
- Do not take your bracketed photos with more than 3 exposures
