During the photoshoot, remember this:
- I have left enough space on the side of the dishes for the final 1:1 crop
- I’ve respected the technical settings to make sure the photos will be as per Yemeksepeti standards
- The photos are in focus, there is no blurriness anywhere
- I’ve written down the exact names of the dishes
- I have taken the right number of photos - see mission assignment
- Natural light is coming from the side of every photo without heavy reflections or hard shadows
Tips:
- When plating food, it’s best to start in the middle and work your way out from there in order to ensure symmetry in the plating of your food.
You will be provided with a dish list on your assignment page, it will contain 20 dishes but you only have to shoot 14 of them, the 6 extras exist in case the restaurant can not provide some of the dishes.
If you somehow failed to follow the guidelines or product list provided, please leave a comment on the OCUS platform while you upload your media.
The list below is a recap of all the photos that have to be taken during your photoshoot.

Single dish pictures are composed of a single main dish, optionally surrounded by decorative props.
Take a single main dish and center it in the frame.
Yemeksepeti has selected specific dishes from the menu. Please note that if the restaurant ever wishes to change the dishes that have been selected, It is ONLY possible if one/several of the dish(es) is/are not on the menu anymore.
The most important thing is to stay true to reality. Take a picture of the dish as it will be served to the customers. If there is no plate, do not photograph the food directly on the table. Sandwiches wrapped in paper are OK. If not, find a substitute.
If the item is a set menu, all of dishes must be shown and the main dish must be the focal point of the image. If drinks are included in the set menu, canned drink should be present (not in the focus). Regular coke (Coca-Cola or Pepsi) should be preferred.
Each dish must have its own photo, “Adana dürüm” and “Urfa dürüm” or “cheeseburger” and “bacon cheeseburger” should NOT have the same image for example.
Dish should fit the plate (plate should not seem small for the dish). Try to choose plates that best align with the food's aesthetic are able to bring out the strengths of the food’s visual appeal. Plastic or non-eco friendly prop should not be used. Burgers and fries; try to use wooden boards and plates to give a more rustic feel.
