SCHEDULING
You will have 36hrs to contact the interior designer to schedule or confirm the appointment. Please follow this process:
- On the assignment page, tick "I accept the guideline" to have access to the interior designer contact information.
- Call or email the interior designer in the next 36h after your assignation.
- Try at least 5 times to call or email the interior designer before requesting help.
- If you encounter any issue, please click on “Ask for help” and select the corresponding situation.
DELIVERY
When and how to upload my images
Your priority is capturing between 20 and 25 excellent photos. OCUS handles all post-production.
- Upload your medias the same day than the photoshoot before midnight.
- Upload renames files in JPEG (keep your RAW files until your mission is validated, we may need to ask them).
- Don't do any post production work, we'll take care of everything!
- Don’t erase your metadata.
- Select your best shots and don't send more files than required.

PHOTOSHOOT OVERVIEW
The goal of your collaboration is to provide professional content that will be used for HOUZZ web communication.
⭐️ You are capturing real estate photos. Please make sure you understand the interior designer's specific needs and make sure to capture between 20 and 25 photos minimum of the renovated room(s).

LIGHTING
☀️ it is preferred to schedule the photoshoot at the beginning or end of a sunny day.
Always use natural light. Avoid the use of flash, bounce, or strobes.
Turn on indoor lights.
No strong shadows.
Try not to plan the photoshoot when weather conditions are not optimal (rainy, snowy, foggy conditions)
Interior
⭐ Capture authentic photos that show the property perfectly. Take pictures of the renovated room(s)!
Quantity
Please capture a minimum of 20-25 photos.
You need to shoot each interior area, for example:
- Living Room
- Kitchen and Dining area (Dining room)
- Bedroom
- Bathroom
- Laundry room
- Home office
- Home gym
- Home theater
If the quantity specified on your assignment page allows it, please shoot 2 straight-on (Horizontal) + 1 angled (Horizontal) per area. If not, make sure to capture the best angle for each area. Frames should be balanced to show enough of the room to properly identify the space.
Straight-on:
Center your subject (object or the back wall) in the frame.
Shoot the room straight from at least two different perspectives.
Angled:
Show information about the room layout.
Illustrate how a room communicates with the rest of the house.
Unusual angles, like photos shot from above, below, or far off to the side, are not preferred.
Do
- Try to brighten up the areas with details related to nature (ex: plants in the room, bowls with fruits and vegetables on the kitchen counters).
- Present bathroom in a way that feels pleasant and private.
- Make sure the beds are made and that the pillows, linens are fluffed and lined up.
- Open all doors, windows, curtains (but closets should be closed).
- Make sure all wires and cables are hidden and turn on indoor lights.
- Make sure each photo has something unique to offer.
- Dogs can be part of the frame.
- Try to capture stunning view through the window if possible.
Don't
- Don't focus too much on the bed.
- Don't shoot details or close-ups, instead shoot a large view to bring sense and context of room's overall space.
- Don't photograph too wide (wider than 16mm on full frame cameras).
- Don't include waste baskets/trash cans.
- Don’t include more than one space in one frame.
- Don't use flash (shoot long exposure if the room is dark).
- Avoid too many photos from the same room.
- Do not shoot posed portraits shots, people cannot be photographed!
- Do not show reflections of people or camera equipment in glass or mirrors.

Quantity
You must photograph 1 or 2 shots of the outside of the house with interior lights on.
Do
- Show the house as immersed within nature.
- Showcase these natural surroundings that make the property unique.
- Turn on interior lights.
- Frame should be at a wide angle and horizontal.
- Photos must be taken from a position to best display the entirety of the property.
Don't
- Don’t show areas of the property that are in construction or aren't used.
- Don't shoot at night.
- Do not frame too tight; the property must be fully in-frame.
- Avoid cars and road signs whenever possible.
